Construction Progress on the Kashagan Gas Processing Plant Project
“Kazakh Construction Group” LLP continues active construction work on the Kashagan Gas Processing Plant (GPP) project, located at the Yeskene field in Atyrau Oblast.
Currently, the Partnership's workforce is actively performing the following key tasks:
• Hydrotesting of underground and aboveground tanks;
• Installation and welding;
• Installation and painting of metal structures;
• Trenching and installation of utility pipelines;
• Installation of process equipment;
• Concrete work (foundations, bottoms, structures, reinforcement);
• Backfilling and other earthworks at construction sites;
Overall progress in key areas:
1. Total concrete - 70.1%;
o Below-grade foundations - 81.3%;
o Slabs and other above-grade structures - 22.2%;
2. Total earthworks - 39.4%;
o Earthworks (UKPG) - 67.5%;
o Earthworks (vertical planning/improvement) - 13.5%;
All construction processes are carried out in strict accordance with the approved schedule, adhering to high quality standards and safety requirements.

Completed Work
The following work was successfully completed:
o Chimney stack installation completed;
o Lifting operations using a 400-ton crane were successfully completed;
o Installation of process equipment at Title 18;
o Concrete work at Title 7 (Sulfur Recovery Unit 1).
Chimney Installation Completed
The Equipment and Piping Installation team successfully completed the installation of the chimney. This stage of the work was highly complex, requiring precision, patience, and the use of elevated and heavy-duty lifting. Qualified specialists with relevant experience and skills were brought in to complete the task.
Thanks to the team's professionalism and coordinated work, the installation was completed to a high standard and on time.
The primary function of a chimney is to efficiently and safely discharge combustion products into the atmosphere at a significant height. This allows:
o to avoid negative impacts on human health and the environment;
o to prevent air pollution;
o to ensure safe working conditions at the facility.
Key functions of a chimney:
1. Removal of combustion products;
2. Filtration and purification of emissions;
3. Reduction of the risk of explosions;
4. Prevention of environmental pollution;
5. Maintenance of safe working conditions.
Concrete structure testing was completed successfully.
In parallel with the main work, concrete structures were tested for water resistance and frost resistance. All tests were successfully completed, which is an important and integral part of the project.
These characteristics are extremely important, as the materials and equipment will be used at both high and low temperatures. Successful test results confirm the structure’s compliance with the Project requirements and ensure the required level of reliability and durability.
Based on the test results, high water resistance and frost resistance were achieved for grades B40 and B50. All indicators meet the stated Project requirements.
Installation of process equipment
All installation work on the process equipment using a 400-ton crane was completed, and the boiler house and water treatment unit were also successfully installed.
It's worth noting that the efficient and cost-effective use of the crane was a key objective for the Partnership team. Every day of downtime or improper use of the equipment could have directly impacted on the project's financial performance, increased its cost and reduced overall efficiency. Thanks to the coordinated and organized work of the Partnership team, downtime and delays in crane operation were avoided.
Concrete Work
Concrete work on Title 7 (Sulfur Recovery Unit 1) was successfully completed. All employees demonstrated a high level of teamwork and performance. The work was completed in full compliance with established requirements and standards. Upon completion of the project, all participants were awarded bonuses from the Partnership.
It should be noted that the Partnership emphasizes employee motivation and rewards, rather than punishment or punitive measures. This approach fosters a unified team where everyone feels valued and involved in the common cause.
